Jessica Alba pregnant Again

Actress announces she's expecting second child with husband Cash Warren
Jessica Alba is the latest celebrity to join the Hollywood baby boom. The actress took to her Facebook page Wednesday morning to announce she's expecting her second child with husband Cash Warren.

"I thought I'd drop by to let you all in on some exciting news – Honor is going to be a Big Sister!" she wrote. "Cash and I are thrilled and wanted to share the news directly with you so you didn't hear about it somewhere else."

Alba, 29, and Warren, 32, met on the set of 2004's "Fantastic Four" and got engaged three years later. They quietly wed at the Beverly Hills courthouse in May 2008, two months before welcoming daughter Honor.

NFL Increases offer to Displaced Fans

Seeking to placate upset fans who are contemplating litigation against them due to the Super Bowl snafu involving temporary seating that wasn't up to code, the NFL has increased its offer to those displaced by the debacle. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told the Associated Press that the NFL has e-mailed the 400 fans affected by the situation to offer them $5,000 or reimbursement for documented expenses, and are willing to pay the higher of the two figures. The league initially offered $2,400, three times the value of the ticket, as well as ticket to a future Super Bowl as well as flight and hotel expenses.

Rising food prices push more into poverty

Rising food prices have pushed about 44 million people into poverty in developing countries since last June, the World Bank warned Tuesday. Food costs are continuing to rise to near 2008 levels, when price spikes in food and oil had devastating impacts on the poor, the development lender said, noting its numbers were released ahead of a Group of 20 finance chiefs meeting this week. "Global food prices are rising to dangerous levels and threaten tens of millions of poor people around the world," World Bank president Robert Zoellick said in a statement. "The price hike is already pushing millions of people into poverty, and putting stress on the most vulnerable, who spend more than half of their income on food."

According to the bank's latest Food Price Watch, prices rose by 15 percent between October 2010 and January 2011.

The report came ahead of a two-day G20 meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors scheduled to open Friday in Paris.

Zoellick told reporters that the report "underscores the need for the G20 to put food first."

"The Bank?s Food Price Index shows food prices are now 29 percent higher than they were a year ago and only three percent below the peak of the last food crisis in June 2008," he said in opening remarks in a media conference call.

"Clearly, this is serious cause for concern."

The bank highlighted that food inflation swelled the ranks living in extreme poverty, which it defines as under $1.25 a day per person. This results in people having less to eat, and rising malnutrition, according to the report.

"This year is shaping up to be a very tough year for the chronically malnourished," Zoellick said.

"We know high and volatile food prices are a potent force," he warned, citing food riots in 2008.

Plastic Surgery Deaths

Sometimes plastic surgery in the quest for the perfect body can have fatal effects.
With details of a recent cosmetic surgery-related death still unfolding, we recall other news-making fatalities that have been linked to the quest for the perfect body.

Claudia Seye Aderotimi
Twenty-year-old Aderotimi, a Londoner visiting the States, died February 8 of complications stemming from an unlicensed cosmetic procedure performed in an unorthodox setting. Aderotimi was said to have paid more than $1,000 for the procedure. Police are searching for a suspect whose background is musical, not medical.

Lidvian Zelaya
At the end of December 2010, 35-year-old Zelaya died of cardiac arrest after checking in for two procedures at a Southern Florida facility. The exact cause of death is still unknown.

Wang Bei
Chinese singer Wang Bei, 24, suffered respiratory and circulatory failure in November 2010 after she reportedly sought a facial enhancement. She came into the public eye as a contestant of an American Idol-style show. The exact cause of death is swamped in rumors.

Solange Magnano
In 2009, the former South American beauty queen, modeling agency head and mother died of a pulmonary embolism at age 37. Her death was linked to gluteoplasty.

Rohie Kah-Orukotan
This 37-year-old mother of three — who was no stranger to medical practice — went to a Florida facility for liposuction in 2009. There, she experienced seizures and was rushed to a hospital, with disastrous results.

Maritess Lopez
Lopez died at age 36 after obtaining a "mommy makeover" in 2008. Her Virginia Beach doctor released her an hour after the procedure, but she began experiencing adverse side effects at home.

Donda West
The death of this scholar and mother of a hip-hop star made huge headlines in 2007. The 58-year-old had gone to a high profile surgeon to have a tummy tuck and breast reduction and died of a heart attack the next day. Though the procedure may have played a role in her death, the coroner ruled out wrongdoing.

Olga Arroyo
In 2007, 41-year-old Arroyo, a New Jersey police officer, underwent plastic surgery in a private home at the hands of an unlicensed Colombian native. She died on the scene from a fatal injection.

Kathleen Kelly Cregan
In 2005, Cregan secretly traveled from her home abroad, with the intent of surprising her husband with a new look given by a New York City doctor. (How did she hear of him?) She went into cardiac arrest hours after the procedure and died at age 42.

Olivia Goldsmith
The best-selling author of this book-turned-film checked into a Manhattan clinic in 2004. Goldsmith wanted a chin-tuck — one of many procedures she'd sought from the same doctor — but went into a coma shortly after the surgery began and died several days later at age 54.

Susan Malitz
In 2004, 56-year-old Malitz checked into a scandal-plagued New York hospital to undergo a routine facelift from a top doctor. As the Connecticut woman was being prepped for surgery, she went into cardiac arrest and died shortly thereafter.

Julie Rubenzer
Rubenzer, 38, went to a Florida-based doctor in search of a breast augmentation in 2003. There were many red flags, including the doctor's training, certification and lack of medical privileges. The patient stopped breathing, went into cardiac arrest, never regained consciousness and was taken to her hometown, where she died three months later.

Italian PM indicted in prostitution scandal

His penchant for beautiful young women has cost him his wife, and now may cost Silvio Berlusconi what he cherishes most: power. The 74-year-old Italian premier was ordered Tuesday to stand trial on charges he paid a 17-year-old Moroccan girl for sex, and then used his influence to cover it up – an offense that, if proven, could see him barred permanently from public office. Berlusconi has called the allegations "groundless" and dismissed the case as a "farce," accusing prosecutors of seeking to oust him from power. He did not comment Tuesday, skipping a news conference in Sicily and meeting with his lawyer in Rome.

Unlike Berlusconi's many past legal problems involving business-related charges concerning his Mediaset empire, this time he faces allegations of personal misconduct while serving as the head of government. The trial is set to begin April 6 before a panel of three female judges.

Prosecutors have already relayed more than 700-pages of wiretap conversations describing raucous behavior that would draw censure at most fraternity houses: sex-fueled parties attended by scantily clad women, sometimes dressed as nurses or police officers.

Man vs machine on Jeopardy

Man and machine tied in 'Jeopardy' game-show match
In the "Jeopardy" battle of man vs. machine, man and machine were neck-and-neck on Monday. Human player Brad Rutter and the supercomputer named Watson ended an initial round tied at $5,000. The other challenger, human Ken Jennings, was in third with $2,000. Rutter (the show's all-time money-winner with $3.25 million) and Jennings (who has the longest winning streak at 74 games) are the most successful players in "Jeopardy" history. Watson, named for IBM founder Thomas J. Watson, is powered by 10 racks of computer servers running the Linux operating system. "You are about to witness what may prove to be an historic competition," host Alex Trebek told viewers at the top of the show. No question, Watson proved to be an amazing competitor — maybe even a little creepy in the speed and accuracy he displayed.

With categories including Beatles People, Olympic Oddities and Name the Decade, the round got started with Rutter choosing the first question, Alternate Meanings for $200: "4-letter word for a vantage point or a belief."

Girl with multiple digits seeks record

A one-year-old Chinese girl has apparently set a new world record for having the most fingers and toes on any living person. Lei Yadi Min has seven toes on each foot and six fingers on each hand for a total of 26 digits. Min is now waiting for official recognition. The current record holders are two children in India, one who is five-years-old and the other is 15. Both have 12 fingers and 13 toes. All of the extra digits are a result of polydactyly, a congenital anomaly that occurs in one in every 500 live births with the extra digits usually non-functional. Although quite a large number, the children still are short of the all-time number of 15 fingers and 16 toes that an anonymous child, also in China, was born with. That child didn't make the record books however because the extra digits were removed shortly after birth by doctors

South Dakota to legalize homicide?

A law under consideration in South Dakota would expand the definition of "justifiable homicide" to include killings that are intended to prevent harm to a fetus--a move that could make it legal to kill doctors who perform abortions. The Republican-backed legislation, House Bill 1171, has passed out of committee on a nine-to-three party-line vote, and is expected to face a floor vote in the state's GOP-dominated House of Representatives soon.

Woman gives birth to grandson

A 61-year-old lady in Chicago has given birth to her own grandson.
Kristine Casey offered to be a surrogate for her daughter Sara Connell after she found herself unable to have children of her own. The baby boy, who has been called Finnean, was born at a hospital in Chicago, Illnois. Finnean's biological parents are Mr and Mrs Connell. However he was delivered by his grandmother, Ms Casey. Mrs Casey, a mother-of-three who last gave birth 30 years ago, said she was grateful to be able to help her daughter. "The three of the happiest days of my life were giving birth to my daughters," she said, "and I thought I could choose to do this for someone I love." Mrs Casey underwent numerous tests to evaluate her medical and psychological condition, as specified by Illinois law on surrogate births. She fell pregnant after a second course of IVF treatment and gave birth to Finnean after 39 weeks.

Mrs Connell, a 35-year-old lecturer, admitted that she could not contain her emotion when her son was born. "I lost it," she said. "It's such a miracle."

She had also tried IVF treatment, but had delivered stillborn twins, and later suffered a miscarriage.

Nearly 800K Dorel Car Seats Recalled

Nearly 800,000 child safety seats produced by Dorel Juvenile Group are being recalled due to safety harness problems, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced Monday. The recall covers booster, convertible and infant seats made by DJG of Columbus, Ind. At issue is the harness locking and release button, which does not always return to its locked position. This can allow the harness adjustment strap to slip back through the adjuster as a child moves around in the seat and results in a loose harness, increasing the risk of being injured in a crash.

Twilight fan lied about bite attack

Authorities say a Florida teen has told police that bite marks on her body came from "Twilight"-inspired vampire role playing  not from someone who attacked her while she was out jogging. The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports that the Monroe County Sheriff's Office has charged the 15-year-old girl with making a false report. Authorities say the girl is a fan of the vampire-based "Twilight" movies and books. The sheriff's office says the girl had engaged in "fantasy biting" with a 19-year-old man in August and worried her mother would see the marks. She told her mother she had been attacked while jogging.

When deputies couldn't find evidence of the attack, the girl eventually revealed what really happened. No charges have been filed against the 19-year-old man.

Egyptian Museum Missing

A full inventory of the Egyptian Museum has found that looters escaped with 18 items during the anti-government unrest, including two gilded wooden statues of famed boy king Tutankhamun, the antiquities chief said Sunday. The 18-day uprising that forced out President Hosni Mubarak engulfed the areas around the museum, on the edge of Cairo's Tahrir Square. On Jan. 28, as protesters clashed with police early on in the turmoil and burned down the adjacent headquarters of Mubarak's ruling party, a handful of looters climbed a fire escape to the museum roof and lowered themselves on ropes from a glass-paneled ceiling onto the museum's top floor. Antiquities Minister Zahi Hawass said the museum's database department determined 18 objects were gone. Investigators searching for those behind the thefts were questioning dozens of people arrested over several days after last month's break-in.

Women Protest Berlusconi

More than 100,000 Italian women and their supporters turned out across the country to protest against Premier Silvio Berlusconi, saying his dalliances with young women humiliate the sex as a whole and degrade female dignity. Backers of the 74-year-old Berlusconi, who is under investigation for allegedly paying for sex with a 17-year-old girl, dismissed the protests as strictly political. The teenager, a Moroccan night club dancer, has said Berlusconi lavished cash and jewelry on her. Both deny having had sex with each other.

David Bbeckham Stranded Driver

David Beckham recently became a Good Samaritan while attending a soccer game with his sons. Beckham helped out a driver who got stuck in a busy roundabout, and pushed him to the side of the road.

CPAC Ron Paul

In a strong reflection of just how strong his standing remains within the die-hard conservative community, Texas Republican and 2008 presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul won the Conservative Political Action Conference straw poll on Saturday, earning nearly one-third (31 percent) of the entire vote. The crowd, however, booed heavily when the results were announced. Paul was far and away the most widely anticipated speaker at the three-day conference, with his base of "Paulites" streaming into the main auditorium to hear him rail against government overreach and neoconservativism on Friday afternoon. In many respects, his win in the CPAC poll seemed pre-ordained -- his band of followers having a well-earned reputation for flooding polls and forums like these. What it portends for a possible 2012 presidential run is anyone's guess. Paul had a similar cult-like following during the 2008 election, only to garner a relatively small chunk of the actual vote.

The other potential candidates who scored well and are more "mainstream" picks for the Republican nomination include former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who earned 22 percent of the vote, and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin who came in third with seven percent. Romney had won the last three CPAC polls. Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, another talked about 2012 aspirant, tied "undecided" for fourth place at six percent.
