Thieves in Malaysia have stolen 725,000 ultrathin condoms bound for the Japanese market.Police authorities in Malaysia are currently conducting an investigation into a missing freight shipment that was destined for Japan. The shipping container, which was to contain more than 700,000 condoms, arrived an empty load. Upon investigating, it was discovered that the locks on the container had been changed. Although Malaysian authorities are investigating the matter.Sagami Rubber Industries, Japan's first condom maker, last week,said the condoms were contained in one container from a factory in northern Malaysia. But when the container was opened in Tokyo, in which hundreds of thousands of empty alias condom was gone. The company said the lock-locks had been changed on arrival in Tokyo.
"We deal with a serious loss of the condom. We are investigating the case," said a Malaysian police spokesman told AFP.
Koji Sato, Sagami Rubber factory managers in the state of Perak, Malaysia, said they had reported the disappearance of the condoms to the police. "We're not happy over the incident. This isthe first case since we started production in Malaysia in 1997," he told AFP.
Employees at the headquarters of Sagami states, the condoms, which was 14 percent thinner than the condoms on the market,worth a total of 1.5 million dollars in retail prices in Japan.
